The Foundation's board of directors holds fiduciary responsibility for managing all assets on behalf of its clients, and is guided by the principles of the “prudent person approach”, as are many of the large financial institutions of Canada.
The Foundation's board of directors has established a comprehensive Investment Policy, which is reviewed annually.
The Foundation's Board appoints an Investment Committee comprised of Foundation management and independent directors of the Foundation. Under the supervision of the Investment Committee, external asset managers provide monthly and quarterly reports, and are met in-person annually.
The Foundation's management team actively reviews portfolio performance, holdings, and activity reports from each asset manager.
